erin wasson + balmain = one hundred percent true love

Erin Wasson in Balmain. a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

lily-allen

I love Lily Allen. I went to her concert last year in Toronto and it was amazing. She's extremely talented and funny. Nylon's been going downhill lately. Last month's cover was Paris Hilton (one of the most famous people in the world). And, as I'm not disappointed with the choice of cover girl, the outtakes from the spread are less-than-mediocre. Maybe they just saved the super-amazing-redonkulous photos for the mag? I don't know what it is... a combination of the short all-over-the-place hair and the these-don't-really-fit-me clothes. Take a look.

post scriptum: I'm feeling silly today, can you tell?

gucci, a humanitarian?

UNICEF has an international partnership with Gucci. Giannini created a special edition handbag, in which 25% of sales goes to UNICEF's critical treatment and prevention programs in Malawi and Mozambique.

The Gucci for UNICEF Indy bag (kinda yucky looking, very old lady Gucci)

Last Wednesday night, socialites and celebs alike gathered to the Oak Room at the Plaza in NYC for a Gucci UNICEF collab dinner. Check out some of my picks for best dressed.

Madonna looking fierce in Louis Vuitton.

The polished yet boho, Blake Lively.

Penn Badgley's looking stylish in black military-inspired attire.

More military-inspired pieces with Erin Wasson's vest.

Rihanna pops with colour and oscillates between glam and rock and roll.

katchafire

My cousin from New Zealand visited this weekend. She urged me to have a listen to some music from her home country. Check out Katchafire's Get Away and Tiki Taane's Always on my Mind. They're sweet mellow tracks that I have been playing on repeat since Saturday...

sequins galore

I'm guilty of owning old, faded and holey black American Apparel leggings. I recently bought the lame high-waist zipper leggings in black and they are my new it-item. This season, designers are taking leggings up an ante, introducing glam, space-age, geometric and modern legging pieces that have me swooning. I have a love-hate relationship with leggings - they can easily look trashy but risk-taking is always a plus in my books when it comes to personal style.

on the go

This is from The Sartorialist the other day. It just gave me a good feeling. Horrendous, atrocious, frigid, nippy (you get the picture) Montreal winter is coming but it doesn't necessarily mean a complete forgoing of style, in exchange for sensibility. This man looks polished, warm, busy and important... and I just adore it.

no, but really... who doesn't love kanye?

There's been a ton of leaks lately from Kanye's new 808s & Heartbreak album. I'm in LOVE with what I've heard of the album, that is scheduled to be released on November 25th. Some say it's not hip hop, some say he can't sing, but who really cares? I don't want to play favourites - but check out these heartclenchers: Coldest Winter, Streetlights and Heartless. He's also got some great features including Young Jeezy in "Amazing" and Lil' Wayne in "Tell Everyone That You Know".

november isn't peach season

I've definitely been waiting for this... (not) Here is Peaches Geldof's, a Nylon "columnist", modelling her new clothing line - very young, prim-and-proper, British party girl. Her article that she wrote a couple weeks ago resembled a tenth grader's back to school essay on "what I did this summer" and is now ranked the most viewed at nylonmag.com. Check out some photos of her line for British label PPQ here. What do you think?!
