burberry prorsum spring 2010 show
Who watched the live Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer show yesterday? It was, hands down, the highlight of my day. Streaming a major fashion show, for the world to see, live, is a major innovation. The discussion board was going crazy the whole time I was feasting on the collection. This is something I hope the industry keeps doing (and should, for that matter). Burberry was back to London Fashion week, after a decade of absence. If you missed the live show, no worries, you can still catch it here.
My style icon Mary-Kate was in presence, alongside Alexa Chung, Daisy Lowe, Victoria Beckham Emma Watson and Gwenyth Paltrow. I'm loving the Olsen's Burberry suede wedge ankle boots. I die from the looks in the show... Ahhh the draping, the shoulders, the military-inspiration, the shoes (that a couple models tripped in)...
It was a fashion buffet.

ineffable
If you're a frequenter of Tommy Ton's blog Jak & Jil, you've definitely already seen this. BUT I couldn't help but posting this... hakjs;hajklhaskhjkhsajkhsjkaj!!!! AMAZING heels by Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte. I'm on the same page as Tommy, who wrote he was speechless. Ineffable. Indescribable. Beyond words. What would you do for a pair of these?!

rad hourani spring 2010

I once saw Rad Hourani at a restaurant in his hometown of Montreal (where I go to school). I was too nervous to say anything to him, but he stood out even then, in a laid back setting. If you've ever seen him on Jak & Jil, he always looks so avant-garde and untouchable. His Spring/Summer 2010 collection blew my mind. He did a new take on similar trends (black, zippers, leather etc). Not for the faint at heart!
Key words: androgyny, space-age, black, slit pants, zippers, leather, silver, white, clunky square-shaped booties, slick hair, boxy jackets, bicycle shorts.

rag & bone spring 2010
Rag & Bone's Spring 2010 collection was most definitely understated and low-key. I got a vibe, from the military-esque pieces, that this was inspired by mourning country at war.
Key words: recession, cargo, army, boots, lace-up shoes, socks, rolled-up sleeves, cropped jackets, tuxedo shirts, staple belts, drop-crotch pants, trousers, light-coloured fingernails.

that girl
It's getting cold once again, which means it's time to break out those socks and heels. You know, if you're daring. Oh and another thing, I don't believe in that whole "don't-wear-white-after-labour-day" thing. Who made that up anyway?! Photo: Lolita.

cut offs
Natalie Suarez at the Who What Wear book party. I like the way she does the boots and the cut offs... I don't think this would work on me. I'd just look awkward, maybe my legs are too short? But, she looks so hot, I might try it anyway. On another note, I'm interested to see what they Katherine Power and Hillary Kerr came up with for the book. Has anyone had the chance to take a look? faux pas
Chris Brown needs a new stylist, or better yet, a new publicist. Last night, he appeared on Larry King Live and I have three words for you, Christopher Maurice Brown: HORRIBLE outfit choice. #Chrisbrownsbowtie has been exploding on the Twitter world, and as much as his attire isn't the be all and end all, it does say a lot about his professionalism. Mind you, I have absolutely nada against bow ties. He just looks like a clown. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I think a suit would have been appropriate, especially when you're explaining how you beat the **** out of your ex-girlfriend. Baby blue, bow-ties and diamond earrings don't exactly spell serious. I don't care what he says, but appearance says a thousand words. Or in this case, it says one loud and clear: goof.
