days off
You know those "what I did on my vacation" exercises grade-school teachers always make you write? I tried to write something up for this post and it went a little something like that. Aaaannnnd delete. Whateves, here's a video from the Women in Media, Women in Music panel discussion that I went to at Smith College last Saturday. It was hella cool, cooler than an hour-long video could ever convey. After a few days in Northampton (a picturesque, almost cliché, artsy town like you would never believe), I went to Boston and ate a lot of Boston cream, walked a lot more, and met cute (gay) boys. Sigh. Hopefully, I'll get some good photos out of the disposable I brought. Getting non-digital photographs developed is akin to that feeling I used to get on Christmas morning. Really.
Love from reading week.

mixed like me
My new column "Mixed Like Me" explores issue of race, identity, blackness, media, representation, and oh yeah, me. I'm really excited about this, so if you have any comments, criticisms or suggestions for topics, please email me at [email protected]. Click the image above if you're interested in reading my introduction.

what’re you rebelling against, johnny?
Here's my McGill Daily piece on the past, present and future(?) of counterculture. I watched Reality Bites last night and the intro pretty much summed up my piece in 30 seconds (kidding, that's impossible!). Click image to read, if you like.

antithesis teaser
I "starred" in a video for a project that my friend is behind, called Antithesis. It was shot earlier this year, sometime in January, when I hadn't quite gotten used to the weather, and the idea of a hot bath and a free bottle of red wine was really appealing to me. That was my priority, not the so-called modelling part. In the end, though, I've realized that modelling is, like, so much fun. Honest.
Take a peek at the site in progress, if you like. So fresh. So clean.
More to come!
(There's even a tank named after me. Take that, Elizabeth & James!)
