combat baby
I still haven't 100 percent worn in my Docs that I bought in August... But I guess that the good news is that the pain is subsiding each and every time I wear them. What kind/colour/collaboration of Docs would be your personal pick?

montreal fashion week
Tuesday night, in between studying for exams, I took a break with my old(ish) friend Kortney, and a newer friend Miranda, and headed to the Old Port for the opening night of Montreal Fashion Week. We saw two shows: Andy Thé-Anh and MUSE by Christian Chenail. I must admit, it wasn't as mind-blowingly exciting as my first fashion week, last season, when I was in utter awe at the lights, the wine, the clothes, the people, and the entire energy. Don't get me wrong, it was all still there, but I think it's sad that you get used to some things, you know? However, even if the shmoozing gets tiresome, for the 15 minutes that a fashion show lasts, it's pure gold. I feel like a kid in a candy store because I sit, wide-eyed, examining every piece of clothing, every stray hair, every song, and every stiletto.
The photo is of my gorgeous journalista friend, from The Unapologetic Eccentric, wearing a harem style jump suit, Marc Jacobs cardigan, Zara vest, and Escada belt. I never say this, but I love her dearly and we keep each other on our toes with school, writing and deciding what to wear on the weekend. Everyone needs a friend like her. The photo is taken by Anik from Montreal In Style.
We had press passes and all, because she writes for She Does The City, so we got to check out the cramped media room where writers were sipping espressos while scrambling to get there content sent to their editors on their quintessential MacBooks. Diva that I like to pretend I am, I preferred the media lounge, where photogs took pictures of designers, and Kortney caught an interview with Chenail, while I sat and downed tropical martinis. We also had a photographer come, but I haven't seen the photos yet but I will post a few once they come in.
I was donned, her "assistant" (HA!), so I got a press pass too. I guess my proper title would be the "Official Tweeter," since my Blackberry was stuck to my hand the whole night. I admit, I felt very much like Joe Zee from Elle Magazine. Oh, we were also lucky enough to sit in the first row next to Fashion Television's Glen Baxter. He sits front row, in the same spot every year, right at the end of the runway, and snaps every model with his digital as they strike a pose for the pit.
As for what I wore, I went back to basics in all black. Black J-Brand skinny pants, black lace top from Fashion Crimes (a crazy boutique in Toronto), my grandma's black sheer ruffled oversized blouse, and black lace-up wedges from Urban Outfitters. I'm hoping there's a full-length shot to show y'all soon!
